We’re thrilled to introduce you to Rita, our smart, automated campervan, and we believe there isn’t another campervan out there quite like her.

Don’t be mistaken when we say AI campervan, we haven’t just put a Google screen or an Alexa in there, it is so much more!

What Makes Rita Special?
Rita is powered by Home Assistant running on a Dell Micro PC, with everything from lights, switches, and sockets to the alarm system, fridge, solar batteries, inverter, and even CCTV cameras fully automated. Thanks to AI from OpenAI, she can monitor and control it all seamlessly. She’s voice-activated, and you can even text her—she’ll respond just like a real assistant!

if you are impressed that Cheryl spent weeks building and perfecting all all the software she uses, I would be too! Marcus is the brains behind all this amazing technology, but don’t be sad for Cheryl, she has a lot to offer to this build too, but we will get to that a little later.

Cheryl wanted to make the design unique to reflect both her and Marcus’ personalities. There is a whole world of motorhome items that you can purchase for a campervan build, and we found like so many others, they all seemed to come with a lovely price tag. We looked everywhere to find items to adapt to work in our build, some have worked, some haven’t, but boy, have we had fun trying. From our salad bowl sink to our custom handmade headboard and footboard, we have worked hard to create our beautiful safe space. We haven’t completed the build yet, but, we have yet to meet someone in this amazing community that has!

Rita ensures you’re never without internet, no matter where your adventures take you. She’s equipped with a robust 4G Kuma Wi-Fi system and Starlink satellite internet, both seamlessly linked through a GL-iNet router.

This setup guarantees reliable connectivity at all times, keeping Rita online and fully functional even in the most remote locations. With Rita, you’re always connected to the world! 🌐🚐📡

Rita, the AI campervan, takes personalization to the next level with full face recognition. She knows exactly who’s on board and tailors her interactions accordingly:

  • For Marcus: Rita provides automatic updates on anything that needs attention.

  • For Cheryl: She offers to play her favorite radio station or set her preferred mood lighting.

  • For Unknown Visitors: If Rita doesn’t recognize you, she’ll issue a warning and send us a message to ensure everything is secure.
